KIND Snacks And I Love ME! Book Signing

A few weeks ago, on my 11th birthday, my sister Elisha and I held a book signing for our book, I Love ME! on the 27th of September in the Southlake area Barnes & Noble.

We had a lot of fun signing books!  There were many people there to support us in our I Love ME! Book Signing, including KIND Snacks.

For our book signing, we wanted to give out healthy snacks and since we love KIND bars so much, we contacted KIND Snacks and they kindly agreed to partner with us. KIND Snacks has a variety of natural multi-grains in their bars – they are nutritious and delicious!

Nowadays, it’s very hard to find healthy snacks. My favorite KIND bar is Dark Chocolate Chunk because it’s vegan and I LOVE chocolate. What’s your favorite #KINDbar ?

KIND Blog 2Everyone at our I Love ME! Book Signing loved the KIND bars. Some people tried it for the first time and became instant fans! They also enjoyed KIND sticker books and many other fun goodies.

My favorite part of the book signing was how many people were impacted by I Love ME! We share KIND Snacks’ message about being strong by being KIND.

I love this quote about kindness by Henry James on the KIND Snacks website:“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind”.  I think that being kind is the true essence of life.

Practicing KINDness helps us:

  1. Set a good example
  2. Make people that are important to us feel respected and loved
  3. The receiver of kindness will be benefited as well as the giver. It all comes around
  4. And kindness is love. The scriptures state “Love is patient, love is kind….”
  5. KINDness makes a difference. You will impact lives just by being kind, including your own!

I will share one of my favorite fables about kindness: The Ant And The Dove

A Dove saw an Ant fall down into a stream. The poor Ant struggled to get out, but no matter how hard he fought, the current was much too strong. The Dove pitied the little Ant, and she dropped a long, tall, green blade of grass close beside the Ant. The Ant clung on to the blade and was soon safe and sound on the sandy shore.

Soon after, a sneaky hunter crept through the woods and got ready to kill the same Dove with a black, sharp stone. The Ant saw this and used all his might to deliver a stinging bite on the man’s heel. The bite caused the hunter to miss his aim, and the Dove escaped into the safety of the forest. This story shows us an act of kindness is never wasted. Adapted from “Fables For Children, Aesop, Junior Classics for Young Readers”

I think we all (myself included) need to be reminded to be a little bit kinder. You know, kindness goes a long way.
