15 Ways Zootopia Teaches You Valuable Life Principles

Have you “herd”? Disney’s Zootopia is now on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Disney Movies Anywhere (DMA)! Woo-hoo! I’m so excited that now you can experience the magic and thrill of this wonderful family feature on the big screen at home.

Zootopia is an amazing movie, with many lessons on diversity, family, leadership, friendship, and bias. It touches everyone differently, because we can all find that part in the movie that resonates with us and that we can relate our own lives to.

Aside from the valuable family lessons Zootopia teaches you, the detail and animation are superb! It almost feels as if the world of Zootopia is a real place. So many tiny details, hidden mickeys and references to other Disney movies, and making every animal look realistic – even with clothes on!  A group of over 70 animators worked on this movie, to perfect it, polish it, and make sure that everything looks awesome, which I think you’ll agree it goes above and beyond!

15 ways Disney Zootopia teaches you

I would like to share 15 ways Zootopia teaches you valuable life principles, but don’t worry, no spoilers!

Judy Hopps, the bubbly protagonist of the story, voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin:

“Real life is messy. We all have limitations. We all make mistakes. And the more we try to understand one another, the more exceptional each of us will be. So no matter what kind of animal [person] you are, I implore you: Try. Try to make the world a better place. Look inside yourself and recognize that change starts with you.”

“Tomorrow’s another day.”

“No one can tell me what I can or can’t be”

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”

“I don’t know when to quit!”

“It may seem impossible to small minds.”

“This is Zootopia. Anyone can be anything!”

“Predators shouldn’t have to suffer because of my mistakes.”

Nicholas P. Wilde, the fox, as voiced by Jason Bateman:

“Never let them see that they get to you.”

“It’s called a hustle, sweetheart.”

Gazelle, voiced by Shakira:

“Zootopia is a unique place. It’s a crazy, beautiful, diverse city, where we celebrate our differences. We cannot let fear divide us.”

“Birds don’t just fly they fall down and get up. Nobody learns without getting it wrong.. I won’t give up, no I won’t give in, ’til I reach the end, then I’ll just start again…. I wanna try even though I could fail.”

These 15 quotes from zootopia can be a source of inspiration for you whenever you feel like you need to dust yourself off and get back in the saddle. I think that the biggest takeaway from this movie is that we shouldn’t judge others by where they come from, what they look like, or if they have a different lifestyle than us, because I believe we are all children of God and that we are all beautiful in our own special way.

Remember to believe in your dreams, think BIG, be open to possibilities, and don’t be afraid to make a difference. Judy Hopps didn’t let anything stand in her way, no matter who told her she could not. She pushed towards her dreams and made it happen.

A big realization that we all need to make is that not everyone will get along, and there will be  complications along the way. Learn from the times people don’t get along. Also, I love the message of kindness, that when you do good deeds, they come back around to you. Some people call it karma, others call it the Golden Rule, but regardless of what you call it, it’s beautiful how when you do something nice, you are rewarded.

I love Zootopia, and I encourage you to go watch this blockbuster and when you do, make sure to tell me what you think and what other lessons you encountered in the movie. Until next time and remember to,

[elisha]
